Extreme Vertical (EV)
Extreme Vertical (usually referred to as EV) is basically a high jump competition for dogs and was first introduced in 2005 as a competitive discipline. A specialized ‘EV Rig’ is used to suspend a foam bumper 8’ out from the edge of the dock, and at a minimum of 4’ 6” high. In competition, dogs may begin at any height, but must make a successful ‘grab’ (given 2 attempts) in order to continue to the next height. The bumper is gradually raised by 2” increments, until finally there is only one dog remaining.
